Why we built it

Watching a show "together" from two different cities usually means counting down — "three, two, one, play" — and then spending the next two hours nudging each other back into sync over text. The tools that exist were either built for big public crowds, or they bolted chat onto a stream and called it a day. Nothing felt made for two people who just want a quiet, shared evening.

So we built WatchNest around the smallest, most common case: a couple, or a few close friends, who want to press play once and stay in sync for the whole film — with a place to chat, react, and actually see each other's faces. No public lobbies. No accounts for guests. No clutter on the screen.

What we believe

Small and private beats big and loud. WatchNest is intentionally built for rooms of two to five people. That focus lets us make the experience calmer and more intimate instead of optimising for crowds.

Your evening, your data. Guests join through a link without creating an account, and we keep the overlay out of the way so the movie stays the point. You can read exactly what we collect in our privacy policy.

One person shouldn't have to organise everyone. That's why billing is host-only — the person who creates the room is the only one who needs a plan, and everyone else joins free.

What WatchNest does

WatchNest is a Chrome extension that syncs playback across separate accounts on Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video. Everyone streams the title from their own subscription at full quality, while play, pause, and seek stay aligned automatically. On top of that, you get live chat, emoji reactions, and optional built-in video calls — all inside one clean overlay.
